The article of today talks about the businessmen stays, and the features they may want. The author talks about road warriors, representing the always-on-the-road businessmen.
the article states what this specific segment is really looking for when they arrive for a week night in the Hotel. And we can read that many hoteliers think that a bed and a bathroom are enough.
But we must not underestimate their needs, it is not because they arrive late, and leave early that they don't want to have special features!
A representative of Best Western Hotels has well understood the stakes. And I agree with what she says.
It is normal and obvious today to provide automatically a High-Speed Wifi access, breakfasts facilities, but also a Parking, a TV channels program, the seep timer on the remote..
There is an other thing that will seduce businessmen, that almost spend 300 nights per year in hotels : is to have a microwave, cutlery, a plate and a glass.. without being an apart-hotel, provide their business guests these things can change their life because they will feel like doing something normal, something they would do in a normal life!
I think that businessmen take what they are given without always shilly-shallying, but that Hoteliers should be more comprehensive, and provide them tho more amenities they can in order to reduce the prejudice of "not being at home".

I think this article was very interesting. Businessmen are usually more loyal customers and this target is growing very fast. Finding solutions to answer their needs and wishes would be a profitable competitive asset for a hotel.
RépondreSupprimerWhat seems obvious but is not always available is the free wi-fi. Either there is not, or it is slow, without mentioning that it is seldom free... A hotel that focus on the business segment or even just want to attract businessmen should understand that a free and high speed wi-fi can make the difference.
Another important criteria for businessmen is the breakfast for free. For people who travel a lot and spend usually more for a room, the breakfast included seems a good option.
These are only examples of the basics a hotel should propose to its business guests. Still, not all business travelers are the same. If some just need the basics for a good night sleep, others may prefer more sophisticated services. For instance, averyone need a shower that work properly, clean and with hot water but some will ask for free branded ammenities
(like L'Occitane shampoo etc). Another example is what Alia said about the coffee machine, microwave and the fridge in the room. Indeed, people who travel a lot may need more "normality" and live as if they were at home, a very understandable need.
Even if it is not the majority, some hotel chains like Best Western or Holiday Inn already started working on the matter and provide more or less upgrade services for their different type of businessmen and women. It should be no doubt that other group will follow with new or similar offer, giving the guests the power to decide which hotels perform the best and encouraging competition and more care about their needs.
