I have just read about that new tool, OpinionWell, which is a very interesting tool to observe your online reputation as a Hotel, or a customer.
Since we are studying digital marketing in hospitality, I though that it was appropriate to share with you reader my founding.
So Opinionwell is a specific search engine that uses semantic analysis and opinion mining technologies to extract consumer preference data from hotel reviews. It is more targeted than a regular reviews website.
It aggregates and analyzes hotel reviews from across the Web to give in-depth and unbiased hotel recommendations.
OpinionWell is the first travel website to provide a hotel review keyword cloud, which highlights what people are talking about - good features, problem areas, and common complaints.
It also allows users to ask questions and post comments for each of the 40,000 hotels in its database. So far it is only accurate for Hotels in the USA, but I am certain that such a website will be soon existing in Europe.
The main advantage for hoteliers is that for a fee, they can check exactly what is mainly said about them, so they can monitor their online reputation. So now I am just hoping that Hoteliers will use these new tools wittingly!

This article was indeed very interesting. Softwares are more and more sophisticated and hoteliers can benefit from the progress in technology to improve their quality of service and monitor their reputation. The best news is: it is free or at least very cheap! For almost nothing, you have a direct access to reviews about your hotel, coming from all the different websites. You even have access to your competitors reviews and scores! Instead of spending hours tracking online comments and making costly surveys or hiring a consultant, you just have to go on Opinion Well website and read what it found.It is so precise it ranks the comments into category and keywords so you can target easily the different problems and see at first sight what are your strengths and weaknesses. I am sure this tool will be used very soon by the majority of hoteliers. The question is: how many of them will follow up on their findings to correct what needs to be...

OpinionWell is very clear and easy to use, and, it gives a complete information about your hotel (reviews, ...) and about your competitors (reviews of their guests, their scores, ...).
I am agree with Alia, this website will be soon existing in Europe because it is a great marketing tool and it is Free!!
I think that it is a great opportunity for hotels to use this service. It is absolutely free for the hotel’s owners. As a result you can compare your hotel position with another nearby concurrent hotels. I think that it will help to better understand the problems (if the hotel has them) and react as soon as possible in order to ameliorate the hotel’s position. It is very useful because all the comments about the hotel are just in one search engine with the clear analyses of weaknesses and strengths of the hotels.
